America's Hidden History- A book review

I received America's Hidden History by Kenneth Davis, this month from the Bright Ideas by Best Selling Authors group here on Gather.

I lreally liked this book.  It had so many interesting facts in it, that I had never heard before.  It gives so many details on things in history that you think you already know about.  I don't consider myself a history buff, but  my dad is, and I honestly thought I knew more about our country's history than what I really did!  I definitely plan on sending this book to my dad!

I really liked the way the book was broken up.  It made it easy to find things, and I liked the way there was a timeline in the front of every chapter.  If you get confused about when something happened, you can check the timeline really fast, and it gives you a better idea of what was going on at that time.  It helped me put things in perspective so much better than if he had just included the dates that things happened, without any context as to what else had happened that we already knew about.  I'm not great at remembering exact dates, so this was a huge help to me.

I would suggest this book to anyone who is looking to learn a little bit more about what our country was like when it was first starting out.  I really found it to be very interesting, and easy to read.
