Gather to me is a small and select people.
I have no illusions about reaching billions here.
It is just another place where I add -one brick at a time over many years.
I look at numbers and they tell me how small internet audiences are.
Each webiste has it own dedicated participants and only some of them ever cross over to other sites to see what is there.
I present many more of my presentations on other venues- each with a particular group of people and audiences.
It is impossible to ever know though how my art will be interpreted?
I am just one person in billions who is here and wants to learn & communicate.
Look at what you write and see how many people comment?
The featured people, the published authors, the popular crowd and the politician and common person- look at them all.
Everything we do is therefore a Gathering.
We make no major mark and mostly just spin out thoughts and blogs & network.
Yet who we connect with and what we develop between connections always has the possibility to be so much more.
In the grand scope of things the most important thing is that we all contribute.
It doesn’t matter how obscure your life might seem to you or as high as you might feel and believe you are?
Like pen pals or published authors- Gather gives us all a place to connect and participate.
Yet remember Gather is someone elses venue and you are one of many participants.
If it shall ever grow to be much more depends on how many like minded people you connect with and the day by day tightening of bonds of affection.
If what you say resonates with others and even if you do not personally take credit for an accomplishment, the final result is that you will have influenced reality and accomplished your intention.
Therefore what the internet and places like Gather means for ,and to me?
Is the point in which we contribute & create and express and say hello everyone -this is who I am!
In that way we all have the freedom & rights to stand up and be counted.
We as a people face so many obstacles in our life.
The most obvious is -we are finite beings and therefore all of us must face our mortality and all of us bear witness to others who are here so briefly and then pass away -as well.
Yet we share this place in common, the Kings and the Peasants, the Rich and the Poor.
Our dualities create differences, but in reality we are all one.
Some of us want to leave behind a better place than when we found it.
Others are too busy taking, to stop long enough to see or even to acknowledge anyone else.
There are many shades of grey in-between and somewhere we all fit in our place.
A great song that I have always related to is by an old friend of mine – and it is titled:
“Where’s the grey?”
I can upload it to my Gather site or I can link to my video that I have already loaded to Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ct7oC6glSo8
If you want to watch it and listen to some great music do so?
So in closing I could write a book on this subject and in ways I have already done so- but in reality I know that what I do as an artist will find my own audience and who knows in time will find many more.
I cannot look back, but move forward adding one brick at a time and doing whatever I can to participate and speak out and share what has been provide to me in life.
So this becomes more a musing a writing for all those who have yet to find me and the ones that do not know me well.
Everything has a beginning and and end and so I must pull the plug on this one- or it will go on and on and the essence will leave and that is not what I originally intended when I began thinking about this subject.
I hope you enjoy my show?
P.S. I am always connecting the dots and so here is my newest upload to youtube and only goes to show more from the person playing the song "Where The grey?"
