It is now becoming fashionable to Stop Global Warming?

Hey either we do something real about the condition of our planet or our children and especially our childrens, childrens, children will curse what we did to our planet.
It would be great if this was the Global Brain in action, yet quite possibly it is just another detraction away from these issues by serving it up as mind fodder to make it look like something is really being accomplished, but in reality it was just another promotional ploy to make more money- like American Idol- the selling of the world.
Wake up and smell the coffee.
This gives even more meaning to this song that I present for your viewing pleasure.
Be real, think globally- act locally!

i think alot of people say they want to stop it, but they aren't doing alot to stop it though. what kind of vehicles are alot of those people who say they want to stop global warming driving? where are they shopping? people need to start putting their money where their mouth is.

Politics messes everything up. People need to become less insular and start looking at how the rest of the world lives. We could learn alot from our global neighbors!

I'm not thinking about the money, I'm concerned about all the gas used and the emissions burned NOT by the celebs who allegedly used carbon credits, whatevertheheckthatis, but the gas and emissions burned by the people who are in attendance at these concerts. Most did not in all likelyhood use public transport (except perhaps in London and Hamburg, where it is the norm).

vickie.....and what is it I "need" to "learn"?? I DO NOT believe the we insignificant carbon based creatures are capable of altering the weather and climate. The earth has had and will have climate changes. Do you realize vickie that only 10,000 years ago (nano secs in geological time) the northeast US was covered in ICE???? Do you know that we are STILL in what is considered an ICE AGE? Do you know that the ice on Antarctica is getting THICKER? What about the ozone layer? Don't hear anything about that anymore. What about acid rain? The death of the coral reefs? The death of the oceans by 2000?? What ever happened to the spotted owl? (lives in the big red 'K' at a local KMart in WA) What ever happened to the ICE AGE that was "predicted" in the '70's? Hmmmmmmm.

Gee, with all my questions....you ARE right! I DO have a lot to learn.

Please help me!

I guess its a good enough reason to have a party, but I think in the end very little will come from a bunch or wealthy musicians promotoing themselves to a world audience and promoting a celebrity contest. So where is the money if all those on stage gave a million dollars then maybe it would show something just maybe?
Al Gore could have picked a better act to introduce like maybe Kermit or Barack or even Leonardo- and where is Bono- Mandella, Billie bob or for that matter P-Ditty?

- NOT!
It will take the children to fix the problem because We are the problem- Wake up now Melissa- We are America and we have spoken.
Its assinine to think that this even made a dent or solved anything.

uh huh Carol.....okay, please explain WHY the earth has had not one, not two but at least nine (9) Ice Ages.....and the meltdown afterwards.....long before we were driving in vehicles. Not one global warming "believer" has answered this question. Why? Are those who believe in man made global warming ignoring or are they ignorant of the fact of geological history?

Joel, where is Babs Streisand? Bette Midler? Is it because they wouldn't do this without a pay check? Could it be they are truly hypocrits? Could it be that this whole global warming, carbon credit thing is one big giant scam???

I find it arrogent to believe that we can control the nature. How many times have we improved our world around us ie control rivers and streams only to create even more problems.
Yes I know you folks will think " I don't care about anyone but myself" Wrong I care about the environment but I think we're crazy to think that we have that much control.
Now there are scientist that are saying we use too much solar energy. What???

Exactally Charles. A good example is using tires for making an artificial reef is now being removed because it "WAS NOT A GOOD IDEA" Hmmmm. OK. In the '70's it was the new ice age. The '80's was acid rain and ozone holes. The '90's was....um...the spotted owl and the impending death of the worlds ocean by the year 2000. It's a scam and this "carbon credit" business is the biggest scam of all.

THe world runs on cycles, and this is no more and no less a cycle. The Earth has gone through it before man, and will long after man. So what is all the big hubbub about, a quick and easy way to turn a buck from people who refuse to look up facts. And the Global Warmig cons are doing that big time! Hell Al Gore seen the writing, and he jumped in to make more money and has done so without even having to actually try. Doesn't he fly to seminars in his own personsl Jet? And drive around in a SUV? Let alone the power he wastes at his house. So how can he be such a major figure in this? Because it is not real, it is a major scam that many are making a ton of bucks off from.
