I was talking with a friend the other day and he mentioned that he has grown bored with rock music today. He said that the messages in the lyrics, the sounds and instrumentation have grown tired and that he was beginning to dig for more organic and traditional sounds such as blues, bluegrass and jazz.
Do you think that this is true? Has rock music grown tired and become dervivitive?

Now all the current "alternative" bands sound exactly alike. I can't tell one vocalist from another. I pay them no heed. My wife on the other hand still clings to the genre so I hear them all. They really may as well all be the same band as far as I'm concerned. She'll be like oh you have to listen to this band... so I do, and it sounds like the same band she made me listen to before that and the one before that... I can't get through an entire song half the time let alone an entire album. It's all painfully redundent.
So I guess the answer is yes. It's true.
Remember, a law of the universe is "90% of everything is crap." Some people think it's 80%.
