I have always been a big fan of the Goo Goo Dolls. Lead singer, Johnny Rzeznik, knows how to write lyrics that resonate with his audience and are still personal in his story telling. The slight raspiness of his voice just adds to the whole package, along with his experiementation on the guitar.
As much as I like this album, this CD has played down the edgier side of the Goo Goo Dolls that is found on my two favorite previous CD's, Gutterflower and Dizzy Up the Girl. This is a softer and more produced Goo Goo Dolls CD.
The band went back to their hometown of Buffalo, NY to record this CD, and there are some noteworthy tracks. Most of these are the singles that have come from this CD.
The first two songs on the CD are "Stay With You" and "Let Love In," two of the four singles. These are two of the best songs on the CD. "Better Days" and the Supertramp remake "Give A Little Bit" are the other two singles. These are the best four songs on the CD. Another good track is "We'll Be Here (When You're Gone)."
The two songs sung by bass guitarist Robby Takac, "Listen" and "Strange Love" have a faster tempo, but I'm not a huge fan of Robby's voice, except in concert when you can watch him come to life on stage. It's obvious how much he loves to sing and play his music.
While "Let Love In" shows a softer Goo Goo Dolls sound, there's still enough rock in these tunes to keep the fans happy. On another note, if you do get a chance to see the Goo Goo Dolls in concert, I would highly recommend it. They have great energy on stage, plus Johnny Rzeznik is pure eye candy with his beautiful mane and that sexy dimple.
The Goo Goo Dolls are:
Johnny Rzeznik- guitar, vocals, lead hottie
Robby Takac- bass guitar, vocals
Mike Malinin- Drums and percussion
I met the Goo Goo Dolls briefly at a small private show during their Gutterflower tour, and in addition to being talented artists, they were very cool to the fans that came to see them.

Will shares more of the lesser known bands which is very cool in getting us to expand our music collection.
