I recently got a Nikon D60 SLR and am still trying to figure certain things out! It came with several different colored lenses and filters for focus, etc. The photos it takes are amazing but I know that it can do more than I currently know how to do!
Does anyone have any experience with the D60 and any advice or tips to share with me? Do you have a Nikon D60?

i'm more a point and shoot kind of gal! Good luck.. i bet you could go to a camera store and get some help! i'm baffled when it comes to reading directions..
I have a Kodak Easyshare, it's EASY to use! LOL! Heck, my kids can even use it!
You have really smart kids, Bridget. Wonder where they get that from.... HMMMMMM?????
Hmmmm? That's a great question! I wish I knew the answer. :)
I wish I could help you on this one.
Me too! :)
Many of the bookstores have field guides on specific camera models. It might be a good resource to have. Also, surf the net and see what you can find.
That's a great idea! I even have a $20 gift card to Borders that I could use!
No clue, sorry. I only have a point and shoot.
I have a D40..but dont' have the colored lens
My d60 came with some disk that I take a look at ever once in a while. I learn something new everyday with it. It takes a wonderful shot of the moon. See my moon photos to see how close up it looks. This site from Nikon will help you with quite a bit. Click here
Ooops

Thanks Amy! Mine came with a disk too, just haven't taken the time to look at it yet! LOL! Guess that would be a great place to start!
Oh and if you just do an internet search of what you want it to do along with the nikon d60 you will find your answer. Thats how I get my great shots of the moon.
Sorry I'm no use with this subject. I play with my camera but I never have any idea what I'm doing at the time.
See like this. I searched ... How to take a photo of the moon with my Nikon D60 and I got this web site...

I love my D60. It works how I want most of the time, but sometimes it doesn't want to focus where I want it to, so I have to switch to manual focus. What are you trying to do with it specifically.
Nothing specific I guess! I just see all these amazing "professional" looking photos and think I must be doing something wrong! :)
Wish I could help, but I am still trying to figure out my Samsung GX10. LOL I'm every bit as clueless and I've owned it over a year now. hehe
looks like a nice camera, just start shooting with it and you'll learn it, I never read the manual, but no guy ever does LOL, we can figure it out ourselves! and you too! lol
Sounds like I need to stick with point and shoot models...!
I bought a D-60 too. I love it. I am still playing around with it myself and figuring it all out.
When you figure everything out, let me know! LOL!
Good luck with your new camera Bridget!
Read the book...LOL. I need to find the book for my camera...it's on b/w and I don't know how to change it back. I have the D80.
Come on now, that would be too easy!
Sorry...know nothing about this camera but I know you will learn all the "how tos" quickly and you will be a pro!!!
Bridget - to start with a look at the disc that came with it.
I have an new Olympus since Christmas and am still figuring it all out. LOL . I just take the manual with me and every once in a while I'll try out something new. It takes time and practice that's all. I'm almost glad I don't have any fancy lenses, because I'm still working on taking better photos - never mind the lenses -LOL.
Amy had a great idea about posting the question on line and entering your model of camera - I might try that for a couple of things that I just can't figure out.
