Of course Mariana has it: Hibiscus! And I foolishly was thinking Irish or Ireland. Good catch, Mariana (assuming, of course, that hibiscus is the answer and I can't imagine that it's not).
I thought it was the rose-of-sharon. I think that is part of the hibiscus family, but I guess it's not tropical so I must be wrong. This is fun. Thank you, Curt! :-)
