Here is some advertising art from the early part of the twentieth century.  It is published by Dover Publications. 

Because the copyrights have expired, it can be used by artists and other people.

Dover will send you free selections of their graphic collections if you register with them.

I like these advertising images, people really made the work attractive.

I love the old ads and the art work was fabulous. When I was a kid I collected old cigar boxes because I loved the artwork.

Perhaps these images are appealing because they are so soft and rounded, unless the sharp, brusque, contrasting commercial art we see posed everywhere today.
