Music is very powerful. It poses ideas, evokes emotion, and transports you to another place and time.
Have you ever heard a song and thought of a particular person? I'm not talking about remembering a specific event involving a person. I think everyone has done that. I mean have you ever heard a song and it described a person so perfectly that you feel it must have been written about (or for) this person (even though you know, of course, that this can't possibly be the case)?
Last night I was listening to "Like a Rock" by Bob Segar. As I was listening, I was picturing a friend of mine, even though I never knew him when he was younger. I have known him for going on ten years now, and he was in his fifties when we met. Somehow, though, I just know that the song describes him perfectly not only at that age but also now looking back on those times. He is one of those guys that never really ages. He is one of the coolest people I have ever met, and he has one of the best souls I have ever known. Every time I hear that song, I know it just had to be written about him.
Has anyone else heard a song and just known that it had to be written about someone they knew? If so, what was the song, and who do you think it was written about?

Sarah, I have felt that, too.
But Holy Water and I'm A Survivor remind me of two of the same, but different, people...I'm sure you know who I'm talking about....
Pricilla - it's nice when you hear them, though, right?
Rebekka - that's really sweet.
Day Dreamer - I've never heard that song before but I will have to check it out.
