I understand there's a family photos contest going on, and I'm a little unclear on how it works. I'm usually one to avoid contests, but I think I'm have "a contenda" here.
This is the first Fourth of July that Janie's family joined us in Ouray for our annual Hall get together.

On the 4th itself, mom brought out her accordion. Nellie (94) listens in from the left. My brother Alan (loud shirt) looks very, very laid back. Katie (Janie's niece) is checking out the photographer.

Brian, aspiring horror cinematographer, takes it all in.

And for my entry, Oma (German for grandma) plays accordian as Genavieve (my niece) dances with Katie (Janie's niece).

The accordion and the little girl facing front so nice and still make it the perfect family photo.
I really like the way digital photos can be cropped. It allows me to take a regular photo and remove the top and bottom to get a panorama effect. I like also about that picture my father-in-law Dick sitting behind my mom and listening intently to the songs. That's him to a tee - it captures a very genuine Dick moment.
