Brave Bird

I must have driven a little too close to this brave ladies nest. It didn't matter that I was in a 1 ton truck. She "played " wounded bird to draw me away.

Then she got brave and tried to face off with me before taking wing, giving a cry and circling behind me to land.

It amazes me how they try to get us away from their nests/babies.
I actually like watching them.

Antelope do the same with their babies. I've even seen antelope chase coyotes and strike at them with their front hooves to protect their young.

I am impressed that you seen her in your truck. Have you ever ran with a beagle chasing a rabbit. It is not a straight line. the dog stays on the exact trail the rabbit takes. the adult rabbit will run all over to get you away from the nest.
