They are gone!

Once again, my mom and dad along with my younger brother have left for their winter time visit of Utah. It’s going to be a two week vacation for them. I secretly dread these trips. By now, my devoted readers know that, I worry too much. Well, my family doesn’t fly out to Utah. They have always driven out to Utah. With the expection of one time, my parents have always driven to out west. I pray that the weather holds out for them. I know, they listened and read over weather reports. I also know they have three drivers. I just can’t help worrying a little bit. Oh by the way, they left on Saturday at around 1:00 p.m. Oh, and they are also in Utah. They called last night at 10:52. Even with me being a tad bit fearful, when it comes to these trips, I also look forward to them. It gives me a chance to be me. I can be me without the shadow of my parents being around. I like the idea of having the house to myself. Sure there are problem. Still, I like it

charles, so their vacation is also your vacation? my dad is 79 and my mom is 75, they live next door, but i spend alot of time with them. it is nice when i come home to my own house and relax tho.

I love to visit Utah. We used to drive from West Virginia to Utah each summer. We did it for 12 summers but now we dont get to go. Utah is a beautiful state.
Hope you enjoy your time without them.

Connie, why on earth would you leave West Virginia in the summertime to go to Utah? Except where the mining companies have blown away mountain tops, West Virginia is gorgeous.

Yes, West Virginia is a beautiful state. The mines acturally make the land look beautiful after they are finished. My husband has worked for stip mines for years. I am thankful that he has a job. I lived the last house on a stip mine road for 20 years. I hated it when they put off shot, my windows would shake. It was a dirt road adn they even run a water truck to keep the roads wet so the dust would not bother us. The truck drove up and down the road all day long. After that stip closed. They planted trees and grass. There is lots of wildlife there. We go hunting on it quite frequently.
I love West Virginia. I was born and raised here.
I would go to BYU for classes in the summer. We always drove out. One summer we drove on west to California and Oregon.

It sounds like they will be getting here in time for an arctic blast combining the lowest temperatures this year, with a fresh round of snow.

Tomi - Sometimes, it's not much of a vacation. Grandma finds a bunch of projects for my dad to do. Dad also does a lot of family history work while in Utah. It's my vacation to a certain degree, yeah.

Connie - I think Utah is a beautiful. It has so much natural beauty.

Melissa - I certainly hope that I get too.

Miles - I knew they would have it rough weather wise. It's not their first visit out to Utah though in the winter.
