Robert, I fly very little. I went from 1978 to 1992 without flying at all. The plane was filled with people who did it all the time. It was a reminder not to be bored with my daily routine; it's probably fascinating to someone.
Oh, it's okay to be corny here Mandi (even bad). You reminded me of when my friend Jeff and his son walked into a Chinese restaurant, and the special that day was "#2 on rice". They decided that didn't sound very good.
Dave, when I first moved to the flatlands, I thought I'd miss the mountains. I do. But clouds stick out more here, and they tower, and they cut loose storms that would wrinkle a rhino's hide. There are great things to be found everywhere.
I like these a lot; some people see random reflections of light hitting random collections of ice and water crystals; but some look with their true 'eyes' and see sights like Arctic snowdrifts and scenes like stop-motion surges of wave-foam; may we all have eyes to see the beauty around us, all our lives. And I am glad the young one saw it, too. Thanks so much for making a horrific day here, a little bit nicer! I'm quite cirrus!
Awesome views, great photos. I've always enjoyed watching clouds from a plane and have had a few highs doing it. (This was in the 1980s when flying was still fun.) I haven't had window seats in the last few years because most of my flying has been international, and I want an aisle seat to make it easier to stretch and use the lavatory.
I flew Miami to London once (that was the '78 flight). Took forever, or so it seemed to a 19-year-old. I can see the wisdom of an aisle seat. I'd probably get in trouble taking pictures of the passengers.
