From the Sun

To the angry sun

 

Check out the skull on the right

It was used as model for the finished work called, "who am I?" Notice the top with moon on the right with darker images below and the sun on the left with brighter images.

A big snake or what?

 

Worm for main course fish meal.

 

Before you never would have guessed?

A little manicure and voila "people on the move!"

Intense concentration

 

Produces incredible results

Is he so hot he is sculpting a shower in sand?

 

Whoops! Someone jumped in ahead of him. Next!

 

Another you don't have a clue?

 

To a sand sculpture melting in the sun.

I really enjoyed this, especially since I've never witnessed the before stages, only the finished art work. These are really wonderful.

These are amazing! Wow. Last summer someone made a sand sculpture of an alligator when I was on the beach at Siesta Key. I took a picture of it. I published it and it is still somewhere here on Gather. If you want to go and look. I published it at some point after I returned from vacation so maybe in August or September?

These are amazing. How long did it take for the winner to finish their Japanese Garden? That is incredible. I don't have the patience to do work like that. Aside from the fact that I would burn!

Those are incredible. They do a contest like this at Virginia Beach near me as well. I'd love to be able to do something like this, I'd trip and knock the whole thing over..

I enjoyed this before and after of the sandcastles. The artists that do this are extremely talented and I love to watch them create their masterpiece(s).

These are so amazing that it hardly seems possible such detail could be worked in sand. I am especially intrigued by the shower curtain. How does such an object remain standing? Thank goodness for photos because these are really construction art ... here today, demolished tomorrow.

After the competition a mixture of a gallon of elmers gluall mixed with water is sprayed on the sculptures. I will try to post some more later this week. Peace! ken

Those are amazing! They just had the big Sandcastle Festival in IMperial Beach, south of San Diego last weekend... we wanted to go, but just got busy around the house. I hear it attracts some 350,000 people, though! WOW! I love the sand sculptures... I wish I had patience enough to create something that fantastic!

Lacey, though I love the ocean and beach, the only sandcastles I make are simple pail and moat castles.
