I thought this was hilarious and had to share this afternoon's story.
I was sitting here trying to update my information on the pregnancy sites and formula sites I'm signed up with.I wanted to update things for this pregnancy, make sure I'm still recieving emails and that our new address was on file. I was on Similac's website and was checking out the information for what's going on with the baby at this stage. My daughter came out and sat on my lap.She looked at the screen and goes "Mommy was is the baby in a bubble?" I then in a kid friendly manner of course vaguly explained what the "bubble" is and what is does for the baby. I try to fill Destiny in on what's going on a bit with my stomach getting bigger and how mommy's tired more and so on. I like her being aware at an appropriate level and not being like oh, mommy is getting fat and boom there's a new baby in the house. Today I was telling her how big the baby is roughly and that the baby can hear us talking now and pretty soon she'll be able to feel the baby moving on the outside and maybe see the baby move in my tummy like we did with her. Destiny then decided she wanted to see the baby. She lifts my shirt and yells at my stomach "Baby what are you doing in mommy's tummy?" Now, if I could only get her to understand we can't see the baby completly from the outside. I love that she's been a part of things going on and I'm hoping by us keeping her involved and giving her some updates it will make transition easier on her. Now, I just need to keep thinking of toddler appropriate ways to explain to my very inquistive soon to be 3 year old what is going on.
