When I first read the headline, I thought this was another reference to a school shooting. But when I started to read the article, I was amazed at what voicing your opinion about the war can do to you. So much for being a "free country."
While reading this, questions to think about (from AOL poll):
1. Why weren't her parents included in the questioning?
2. Was the secret service right to question the 14-year old in the first place?

For having her myspace page say something about the president and about how she wished him to be six feet under. There was a picture too with daggers flying out of his head.
Whoa. So you can't even say anything bad about our leaders or you and /or your underage children will be interrogated. Where do we live again? Wait, someone wake me, is this Nazi Germany?
One has to marvel at the astounding investigative expertise of the secret service to expose the potential plot so well concealed within a MySpace.com posting........brilliant!
Well said!!
Ugh, You think that? I don't think that most 14 year olds know much of anything, especially concerns of secret service and FBI procedures. It's myspace, you know how many ppeople have pages that I have seen (before Tom sold out and went corporate) and had pictures and propaganda slandering Bush big time. You really think someone is going to post on myspace and follow through with something like that? Furthermore, are secret service people so blind that they could not see it was A MYSPACE PAGE by a 14 year old child just being a naive? She is a harmless short term rebel, I mean, I can browse on myspace, read someone's profile and tell the difference between those are are serious and those who are just young, dumb, and immature. Can't you? I feel sorry our secret service wasted time and money investigating such B.S.
Oh but wait, no, I am not surprised at all, people who work for the Gov't are usually bumbling idiots.
AND........if your child were pulled out of school without your permission by strangers and you knew your child was guilty of nothing but being a bit stupid. I would think you'd be singing a different tune. I might assume you don't have children with that kind of attitude that adults could take your child anywhere without your knowledge.
Have you tought your children it is wrong to say "Kill (any one)". I have tought mine and we have an open honest relationship, she knows she can discuss anything and i don't judge her.
The one value that you seem to ignoring is that people interpret the first amendment wrongly. You can say almost anything almost anywhere. You can't yell fire in a crouded movie theatre and you can't threaten to kill someone. You also can not defame someones charactor in public. The courts have established this and upheld it for many years but our education system seems to be ineffective in communicating this to children.
Children also learn by example. They hear radical ideals on telavision and believe every word. Where are the parents? (nevermind I know where they are)
so the secret service finds out it's a 14 year old girl. now what. are the parents of the 14 year old the real threat? so they question the kid without the parents.
i don't think this is a big deal. probably scared the bejabbers about of the 14 year old. sounds like the parent was mad about it. i think the secret service proceeded credibly once they decided to investigate.
