I have belonged to meetup for several years and still nothing in my area. Los Angeles is very large and these meetings tend to be at night and in the valley or other areas. I am planning to start one soon since my HFA son will be homeschooled next year and I want one to address both issues.
I would suggest that you expand on this "article" to cover your experiences with the meetup you attend, costs, and what the topics are.
I would also do a search here at gather with the words aspergers and also autism under groups to find about 3 or 4 other groups to post to.
Why should I have to back myself up or explain myself contantly Bonnie? Why would people want to hear my experience? Most likely they wouldn't read through it all to get to the link for support, so I just post the link, so to save them time and so they will get support and can search and have their own experience. Each experience is different than mine, so I let them have their own. Not base their experience on my own.
