You're getting better toots.

I feel that this is very good, however you may want to look at your presentation by collecting some lines and with space in the between other lines as you have three topics, rain falling, healing balm and the cleansing at the end.
Like

Rain whispers,
a gentle hush
falling over parched pavement,

a healing balm
to the violence
that fell before.
Sunlight
does not reflect this morn,

for this baptism is needed,
washing away
the residue of human frailty,
a quiet restoration
birthed in the hands of God.

And check your speling

Beautiful poem. Richard it right .I was told the same thing once. It gives the person reading a few seconds to think about what they read before they go to the nex't paragraph. Thanks for sharing. I'll shut up for now.lol.

Thanks, Richard! By the way, I did have the separate verses, but for some reason they would not publish properly. I'm going to edit and give it another try, because I agree it is more effective with the verses.

Thanks - looks better now - I have an HTML book by Elizabeth Castro and use it in the html window that Gather offers, just to make stuff look better.

However, knowing HTML is tough, but I also use Word as an editor - whatever, some editors are open source and free you might want to look into them.
