Waiting story from another angle

: How long have you been waiting?

He has been here so long that

he can read the tongue of the shadows

of the window panes fallen on the table.

The shadows tell him how the periods change;

how the noon gathers office crowd around it.

: Have you been waiting for long?

He looks up at his destiny;

she is in a gray flannel suit;

in her fist is the stock-news.

: Now about your loan Mr….
