Perhaps my writing is not as readable as I once thought. I publish mostly poetry and realize that in itself will limit the number who read. However, as the number of people in my network has grown my readership has dwindled, at least if one uses the comments and ratings as a barometer.
My questions, .....are the points, and the quest to amass them, somehow subverting the 'place for writers to write and get feedback' invitation of Gather???
I will continue to write and cherish the readers and comments, thought few, that I receive.

Thanks for bringing up the topic, John.
I stumbled onto a thread recently that refered to gather as "a social networking site".
Gather's initial focus on writers died a long time ago.
I have a sister who love me deeply and thinks I am a cross between Walt Whittman
st john of the cross. I will send her ten or twenty poems and in about three months I'll get a e-mail that say something like very nice John. write what to believe and be content with that.
