I am so proud of myself, I practiced restraint in the Dollar Tree....I am so proud of me!
I picked up some beautiful rose scented and rosebud shaped soaps for my neighbor for her new bathroom, came 12 to a box in pink and green to match her bathroom.
I picked up a cute duck pen for my friend's son in NY. He has duck issues because one nipped him on the hind end a few years back. This is the pen where you squeeze the duck's head and his eyes pop out...good revenge. For his brother, I got a nice Pentel pen with the grip that has a highlighter built in the top too.
I bought 2 sets of 2 pack socks, No Boundaries, for an online friend's 2 daughters. One set will be sent off to college and the other will go to the tween. I also picked up a Hostess Cupcake Lip Smackers with a lanyard for the tween.
I then bought a set of 8 die cast metal Matchbox like cars for my co-worker's sons. I split them up and put 4 each into their Easter bags.
I found the cutest set of notecards with a pug on them for another online friend. I will send those out to her as a happy soon.
For the life of me, I cannot remember what the other thing was...it is not on my desk or in the bag
Duh, it is because I already have it ready to mail....I got a set of rubber bases, including home plate and pitching rubber, for a little guy who is aspiring to be the next Derek Jeter...

I love my dollar store and always like to stick something in an envelope and send it out to them...
The gifts can be cheap,
it's the smiles that they'll bring that are priceless...
;-)
I am proud of you.

MOST impressive.
Isn't it fun to spoil people?
My mother in law lives in a dollar store and does ALL of her shopping in any dollar store she can find. We get all excited if she ever shops in a store like Walmart or Kmart...LOL
I can tell you that most of the stuff that she gets in the dollar store is JUNK and we either throw it in the donate box or it breaks shortly after receiving it and it goes in the trash anyway.
Sometimes on certain things...it is just better to go ahead and splurge and spend the extra dollar for a quality item.
Things from the dollar store that are good are: picture frames, coloring books, puzzle books, holiday decorations, gift bags, gift cards, storage bowls, serving trays, stuff like that...
Items that are not so good ....pacifiers, baby bottles, utensils, I would NEVER buy medicine or food at the dollar store. Usually the toys are all junk and never last more than one play session, auto tools
sometimes I make my mother-in-law shop with me and I show her .....a bottle of say....VO5 or Suave $1.00 at the dollar store....$88 cents at Walmart or grocery store.
Windex at Walmart: $1.35....No name window cleaner $1.00.....I would sometimes rather have the real stuff than a bad knockoff.
My MIL has bought us socks from the dollar store.....ok if you want them always twisted or one is smaller than the other...etc.
Just my opinion.....because my family of 6 has been given gifts from no where but dollar stores for the past 15 years. I am in no way "too good" for dollar stores because I frequent them too but...sometimes...the stuff is not always worthy of my dollar.
I am always there for the gift bags and the like. Our store has a good turn-over of merchandise, so I have been lucky on things like nuts for baking and candy like Necco wafers.
Our Dollar Tree stuff seems to have gone up in quality. Maybe it is a regional thing, because the one in NY has nothing of value in it. My friends are always saying the toys and even picture frames that they buy in NY and NJ Dollar Trees fall apart easily, but the stuff we send them is really good.....odd.
