In an effort to be more frugal, I started saving and reusing padded envelopes. I joined paperbackswap.com and trade quite a few books that way. They encourage you to just wrap the book using printer paper, but I receive a lot of books in padded envelopes.
One day, I peeled the address label off one so I could resue the envelop and found another label underneath, then another and another! The envelop had already been used 4 times and I was about to send it on a 5th trip. It hit me that a lot more people are practicing being frugal these days.
I've noticed that our friends don't plan to go out to dinner as a group much anymore. We have potluck dinners instead. I enjoy these better because I get to visit with everyone, not just whoever happens to be seated nearby. I've also noticed that the items people bring are more likely to be homemade than something premade they picked up at the deli on the way over.
In March I published a post regarding signs you're being frugal. I found everyone's observations to be quite interesting.
I'm curious what things you've noticed around you that indicate other people are becoming more frugal?

I haven't seen anyone using the cloth bags yet but I have seen them for sale at the checkout.
