Tonight, I applied my new found coupon clipping skills to shopping for clothing. Our first stop was JC Penny's. I found the black South Pole shirt marked down to $5.00 from $20.00 and the yellow shirt marked down to $7.00 from $14.00. I had a coupon for $10 off so we got both shirts for $2.00!
Our second stop was Macy's, where we bought my daughter a new swimsuit for the season. It was originally $45.00 but we found it on sale for $32.00. Still more than I would like to have paid, but this was our second trip trying to find a suit. This was the first one that we had found that fit. So I figured I better quit looking. I had a coupon for $15.00 off a purchase of $40.00, so we picked up the shirt on the bottom with the horses on it. It was marked $16.00 down from $22.00. After the coupon, it was only $1.00! On those three shirts, the sale combined with my coupons allowed us to save 95%. (And the swimsuit was 25% off).
