Tomorrow my sons and I will go by our local animal shelter to drop off the pet food we have collected through free coupons in the newspaper's coupon circular and through free samples, I have signed up for on the Internet. Last time we dropped off was before Christmas, so the following is what we have collected in about four months. We have paid no more than 1 dollar, as we had to pay taxes on some of the items. I also save all the pet food coupons and give it to the owner of the animal shelter.

Also, if you use goodsearch.com as your primary search engine, you could contribute about 1 penny per search to the charity of your choice, which could even be a local non-profit in your community. It may not seem like much, but it adds up. :) We do ours to Feed the Children, and since we average around 10 searches/day, sometimes more sometimes less, then it's a few dollars a month.
We do get other samples and donate them to the food drives we have here. On base, they have food drives for the holidays, so they can do baskets for some of the staff sergeants and below who have a family, but only one income. We always donate to them. There is also a boy scouts food drive in the spring that we donate, too.
And you've collected quite an impressive amount! :)
