I am a website developer in my senior year at the University of Phoenix Online. Some of you may know me from my Gather articles about freebies, special deals, coupons, sweepstakes, and others. I have a "deal" website that I started work on a while ago, but I don't like how it's turning out so I'm going to redesign it completely. What I want to know from you is... what does YOUR perfect deal website look like?
I know that many of you are deal seekers, just like me! But what I may like, you may not, so I'm looking for your input to make the perfect deal website! If you would please take a minute out of your day, I have a few questions I would like to ask you. If you want to write your responses in the comments below, that would be great! You may also send me a Gather mail as well.
- Do you want a website that offers deals and promotion codes for every online company known to man or would you prefer to have deals posted for just the most popular websites (amazon.com, newegg.com, walmart.com, toyrus.com.. you get the drift)?
- Do you want to be able to compare prices right on the deal website or is a link to a price comparison website (like pricegrabber.com) good enough?
- Would you prefer to browse deals and promotion codes by store (amazon.com), by category (apparel), or both?
- Do you use RSS feeds for deals? (If you don't know what an RSS feed is, just say no.)
- Would you subscribe to a daily newsletter to have deals delivered to your email inbox?
- Do you like the forum (message board) style of posting and learning about new deals?
- Do you print grocery coupons online?
- Are you loyal to the deal website you visit now or would you consider using another deal website in addition to or instead of your current deal website?
- Would a referral promotion entice you to tell more people about a new deal website or would you do it regardless (if the content was good, of course!)?
- What deal website(s) do you currently visit? What do you like or dislike about the website(s)? What would you change?
- Would you like and use a deal website email address? (Example: username@dealwebsite.com)
- When you use a search engine to find a deal website, what keywords do you normally use?
That is all I can think of for now. If I think of anything else later, I'll post an addendum. :) There are many things that I don't like about the current deal websites I visit so I want to create the best deal website possible so each visitor to the website finds it functional, informative, and unique.
I sincerely appreciate any response to this!!! Thank you!
~Jenny~
