Experimentation with Fingerpaints

Two weeks ago, I picked up some fingerpaints for Maddie.

Here she is with her easel, a blank piece of paper, and three colors - red, yellow, and blue.  Oh the possibilities....

For some reason, she decided to use a spork as an artistic tool.....

She certainly learned how to make a HUGE mess...but I guess that's part of the process!

Wonderful art work. It brings back memories of my girls finger painting. They loved to sit on the floor on top of the newspaper and paint away.

Date them and get a scrap book large enough to hold the size of the fingerprint paper. These will be priceless (if only to YOU) in the years to come, that will quickly pass.

too cute! She did a great job! My Maddie loves to finger paint! I have been meaning to get the paints back out and let her paint as she hasn't done it for awhile.

I did just get her a pack of the Color Wonder Finger paints to give her for Valentines Day because when I was at the craft store they had them and I had a 40% off coupon for any item. I am interested in seeing how good they work. She already has the color wonder paint wands and color wonder markers she got for Christmas from family.

I am looking for the huge mess..... What I see is that she very carefully experimented with putting the color on paper before she actually started smearing it around. Her first works keep the colors separate and bright, and she only gradually brings them together. In the third one she finally really dives freely into the paint with her fingers. It's wonderful that you respected her work and her process!
