It's been slowly going down here. The highest it got to was $4.34 but that only lasted a couple of days. It went down to $4.29 where it stayed for about a month. It is now down to $4.19.
The price of gas is coming down due to decreased demand. America is driving less. Think about that when you hear w. and McCain beat the drum for expanded drilling in "sensitive areas". No. The best way to decrease prices in the short-term is to keep decreasing demand. How about ramping up incentives for GM, Ford and Chrysler to produce plug-in hybrids - and a serious tax rebate for citizens who buy them. In the meantime, stop driving unless it is really necessary - and when you drive, "bundle" your destinations.
