I had a sweet tooth tonight and decided to make a box of brownies. Simple directions 1/3 c. crisco oil, 3 Tbs. water and 1 egg. mix in brownie mix and walnuts bake for twenty minutes. Done, as I went to take the pan of brownies out the oven I saw the oil sitting in the measuring cup on the counter. I took out the brownies ( if I can still call them that ) let it cool and cut into pieces, they`re really not bad tasting but they are a little crummy, I satisfied my sweet tooth but I think I`ve lost my edge.

Yeah that oil is part of what makes 'em hold together and be chewy.
Your right Mr. B
My most spectacular cooking screwup:
I left the sugar out of homemade strawberry ice cream! It was not good but we melted it and fixed it so it finally came out OK.
My hubby calls it a brain fart when we forget the simple things.
I'm a little slow to getting around to things, that's why I'm just posting this now. Here's my answer to your question, it "is" something that more likely then not you will experience, but it is definitely not something to "look 'forward' to".
