It's neat. I ordered my first batch of groceries with Peapod yesterday and got them just a little while ago. Peapod delivers the next day and not as soon as the orders come in although within the 24 hour perioda person can add things to their original order if they like. Spent more than I would in the store if I was in there because there is a minimum order of $50. Which is an awful lot of money to spend for just one order of groceries. But I guess it doesn't really matter what a person spends it on as long as they spend fifty bucks minimum. That mean they can spread the order throughall the aisles picking out one things from everywhere or fifty bucks of only one thing. Though gotta tell ya, if a personbuys only one thing for fifty bucks and up they ought to be prepared to have it last awhile. The boxes and jars they bring are huge. Maybe that's the way Jewel food stores(the people who have the Peapod online shopping thing)are, most of the food is in big economy sized holders. I wouldn't know, I have mostly been in Dominicks groceries since coming back to the city seven years ago and my days of shopping at Jewel were awhile back. Plus the Jewel I went to was in the 'burbs where every store is huge with bocx and jar sizes to match.
I really got my money's worth because I doubt things wil be eaten in one week. Could take two and a half.
The other really cool thing about Peapod is that everytime a person orders with them the orders are saved. That way someone ordering the same thing over again in the next orders can go faster.Plus the store knows that they can give customers sales newsletters about what they might be ordering. Ooh, they are gonna hate me since I like everything and often don't buy the same thing twice in a month. Especially if I'm immersing different geographic locations and cultures and want to have as authentic an experience as possible regarding food.

I can't tell you the last time I spent $50 at the grocery store though. That, and my BF is a manager at Albertson's, so I usually go there for his discount or Ralph's for the double coupons.
Mariana - I don't know if there is a list of advantages. I believe it would depend on whether PeaPod is available in your area, what store they partner with and what you would want to get out of using their service. The prices were the same as if I was shopping at Stop & Shop myself...but a lot of things are not offered through the online store...unless they have changed you had no choice but to buy the "premium" brands of everything. I would, more than likely, have saved money going shopping myself...but it really made my life easier at that time.
I would say that it's an idividual experience when you ask about advantages.
Well, $50 bucks is a lot for me to go grocery shopping with. But not anymore since you guys say they have primium items and not smaller sizes. The upgrade is most definitely worth it.
Peapod doesn't have everything thestores have ifthe shop it's affiliated with is in neighborhoods with different ethnic groups. The same chain of stores are somewhat different depending on the neighborhood they cater to. For instance the Jewel store I will be going to normally is more of a world market. Since Peapod caters to everyone with a computer they can only stock the most popular of the ethnic foods and the most popular local items plus all the normal grocery store products. But as a person who only went to a chain store that was maler and more local ized and didn't have a whole lot of shelf space that the bigger mega markets do having thousands of products to choose from is really fun. I'll be trying foods and brands I've never heard of since our neighborhood Dominicks never stocked them.
I think the advantages to using Peapod are mostly things you have to find out for yourself. Otherwise they can range from haing food delivered in bad weatheror when you are not feeling well enough to go out and really need to get a shopping done, bigger sized items and the fact that there is no anoying music or slow moving long lines to ruin the whole shopping experience. If you're sensitive to if the music different stores use ruins the experience of shopping delivery services can be a godsend. Other advantages of Peapod include the store saving your lists for you so if you want to order the same thing over again after you've run out of it it'll be there in your customized list so ordering it takes no time at all and not having to spend time trying to hunt down anything when stores take it upon themselves to switch aisle placement so that customers can see different foods. That's usually fun but not when you've got a taste for something and have practically memorized the layout of the store. They have a nice wice section for those who are looking for that and a values section and I THINK a bulk section though I'm not sure. Peapod has lots of sections and when a person clicks on a section they get a subsection list where they can shop by type of food or brand name or other specific things. Then there's a deeper subsection after that and the fourth click brings people to the list of items available. At least that's the way mine is set up. To see which way anyone has their version of Peapod arranged they need to type in their zip code andthen the site picks the nearest available store that has the affiliation.
With the items being so fresh tasting, the bigger sizes, the esier way to look over previous lists and the convienience of grocery shopping at any time of day or night in pajamas and slippers you'll like what you find. Even the delivery charge at checkout will be worth it. When it comes to delivery charges it's kinda rare to have those be worthwhile at all.
