Life.
Released from tomorrows promise
Remembered in yesterdays dreams
In times grace we now find solace
lifes edges frayed at the seams
Wonderment faded in wisdom
Memories recorded in time
In hope for all our existance
The privilege of doubt sublime
Inspiration inspires to be inspired
In it's ever demanding sense
At heart the mind grows tired
As all things now past, turn hence
Hark, a crow calls in the wind
As our station looms ahead
In self judgement we recind
For that we have always dread.

"Hark, a crow calls in the wind/As our station looms ahead"...my favorite lines...something about them is very evocative.

Hi Barbary, thank you for dropping by my friend , I thought the crow would appeal to you , as if memory serves me well.you chose to be one this year ,in one of your wonderful poems , at the start of the year. As I wrote this with pen and paper he visited me , cawing outside my window prevoking me to write that line,I'm glad you liked it Barbary,I hope you are well,my friend.

I'm the only one left as well , and thats kind of what my poem it about,a point in time we arive at where,we kind of relive it all over again in our minds , although the reflection with each passing year becomes different, with understanding. Thanks for your comments Kay,I hope you are well.

I'm sorry to be the old cow's tail again, bringing up the rear. I've been reading a lot - mostly 'Bundles For Britain' which is about WWII. Also Gather wouldn't let me on two mornings in a row and I didn't get back to try again until late at night. Love to your family and you.
And I don't mind that your always bringing up the rear,I'm always happy when ever you drop by my friend,Sounds like interesting reading'Bundles for Britain'
I think lots of people are having troubles logging on to Gather and commenting ,all sorts of things. Thanks for dropping by Ruth, I'm glad you liked my poem,Kaz and Tallara send their love, love to jane .
