Here's a real simple new way to make your best articles easy for everyone to know about. It won't take long, and you can do it now.
First; create an article that lists the pieces you've published that you feel most worthwhile for folks to check out. Put a single tag on the article that is your display name (the one everyone sees on all your comments etc.) followed by the word best. Like this;
Pat Smith best
Then, go to your My Gather page, and click settings and mail preferences at the bottom of your icon box. Add [b] at the end of your Last Name. This note will tell everyone that sees your name that you have such an article for them to find your best work.
All they have to do is enter;Your name best in the 'try your own tag' box (on the left side of every page) and your list article will come up.
Using links to your articles in the list will make it simple for people to use.
Once you get set up, you can get your "best" list posted here for even more exposure.
You can update your article anytime, simply by editing it.
Pretty nifty, huh? Give it a try. As folks catch on to this trick, it will become an easy way for everyone to find each others best stuff.

A few months ago, perhaps in May, Ron Hall suggested that people create "maps" for their articles, much as you are suggesting. Several people did this and got some new readers this way.
Ron Hall might even have a group dedicated to this. You could email him (erroneous)
I seem to have been here SO long I know a lot of people's Gatherdresses and Gathermail names!
btw, John, what does the [pb] and the [P] you used a few days ago represent?
Does [pb] mean Lead? [Plomb}?
I have made this a Feature in Unofficial Gatherholics.
well, not for us newbies. lol.
I finally got a link to work in the post and the post to post. Finally.
hahahaha Lydia....funny!
For those of you who are having a hard time with the search feature, (like me!) this group will attempt to collect all of these articles in one place so you can peruse them at will!
A fine thought, and in time I think the little notes in the display name may become more diversified and informative. Right now though, I'm struggling to get folks to see this recommendation thingy as useful, so I'm hesitant to stretch people even further. A [t] is a great potential additional standard...
There is a system upgrade due early next year which will make assembling a list of others work easier, through a bookmark function, but it will not actually do what this does...yet.
