"Will you still need me, will you still feed me when I'm 64" I tease my husband often because he is younger than I am, with this lyric often. I do like a lot of songs by the Beatles and I like many of the lyrics. But this one is my favorite by far.

Let It Be which was inspired when one of the beatles had a dream that he saw his dead mother when he was in great turmoil over the band (which seemed to be drifting apart) and she just looked it and said "Let it be son". That is where his inspiration for the song came from.

I have many as i grew up with the beatles
here are a few
Dear prudence:
Dear Prudence, won't you come out to play
Dear Prudence, greet the brand new day
The sun is up, the sky is blue
It's beautiful and so are you
Dear Prudence won't you come out to play

Golden Slumbers:
Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby

Golden slumbers fill your eyes
Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby
When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.

Some kind of innocence is measured out in years
You don’t know what it’s like to listen to your fears

You can talk to me
You can talk to me
You can talk to me
If you’re lonely you can talk to me

Big man (Yea), Walking in the park
Whigwam, frightened of the dark
Some kind of solitude is measured out in you

So many great songs it is hard to pick just one.

All You Need Is Love

There's nothing you can do that can't be done.
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung.
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game.
It's easy.

Would you stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song
And I'll try not to sing out of key

Married for 43 years now to my husband whom I met as a penpal in high school, the lyrics to "All My Loving" has always had significance for us. It was written by Paul when he was missing his then-girlfriend, Jane Asher in 1963.

Close your eyes and I'll kiss you,
Tomorrow I'll miss you;
Remember I'll always be true.
And then while I'm away,
I'll write home ev'ry day,
And I'll send all my loving to you.

My husband wrote me everyday for 2 and a half years before we met.

What is your favorite lyric from a song by The Beatles?

"Lucy in the sky with diamonds..."

We knew they were talking about LSD. Our parents thought it was just a ditty about some girl named Lucy.

Maybe that's not the kind of favorite lyric you meant, but it's mine.

And, in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.

So hard to pick...

Blackbird singing in the dead of night, take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life, you were only waiting for this moment to arise...

Mine is exactly the same as Ashley M's choice:

"Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup
They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow, waves of joy, are drifting through my opened mind..."

I love the words to the beatles: I wanna hold your hand.....

"And when I touch you
I feel happy inside,
It's such a feeling
That my love I can't hide, "

My 14 year old has become a huge Beatles fan. Her favorite song is Hey Jude don't look so sad. Take a sad song and and make it better...

She plays this constantly, and the song plays in my head as well all day:)

I wanna hold your hand is another big favorite.

I like Michelle, my belle. It reminds me of a wonderful lady I encounted in high school who passed away later in the year. She taught me so much that I will never be able to forget her. She was amazing.

"When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me; whisper words of wisdom, let it be."

I've been comforted by this for years and most especially since the recent death of a friend to suicide.

Oh my goodness with reading all of these comments I keep remembering all the Beatle songs I love. I just saw a special on all the Beatles songs and how this song was written. It was tender.

"When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me; whisper words of wisdom, let it be."

Ob-la-di Ob-la-da life goes on
La La how the life goes on

No matter what we are living or experiencing, it will not stay that way forever. Everything, whether lovely or bad will "go on." Sometimes that seems a blessing, sometimes a negative but life is ever-changing.

I could be handy mending a fuse
When your lights have gone.
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday mornings go for a ride.

Doing the garden, digging the weeds,
Who could ask for more?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four?

Every summer we can rent a cottage
In the Isle of Wight, if it's not too dear
We shall scrimp and save
Grandchildren on your knee
Vera, Chuck, and Dave

Though my husband says he may not need me when I'm that age....LOL

Nothing you can see that isn't shown.

It's easy.

What is my favorite lyric from a song by The Beatles?
From the Beatles song: All Things Must Pass "Sunrise doesn't last all morning
A cloudburst doesn't last all day"

She came in through the bathroom window,
Protected by a silver spoon
But now she sucks her thumb and wonders
By the banks of her own lagoon

When I get older, losing my hair,
Many years from now,
Will you still be sending me a Valentine
Birthday greetings, bottle of wine?

How about.... (Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds)

Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies.
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes.

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these mem'ries lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
In my life
I love you more

from "In My Life"
suzie muscrat Sep 24, 2009, 12:01pm EDT
Oops - distracted - last 2 lines should be:

I know I'll often stop and think about them
But in my life, I love you more.

Love is real, real is love
Love is feeling, feeling love
Love is wanting to be loved

Love is touch, touch is love
Love is reaching, reaching love
Love is asking to be loved

Love is you
You and me
Love is knowing
We can be

Love is free, free is love
Love is living, living love
Love is needing to be loved
cadi w. Sep 22, 2009, 6:02pm EDT
