I have recently been 'logging' some archival video of the San Francisco Folk Music Club's "Free Folk Festival" from 1986 shot by my friend Paul Blake of the East Bay Media Center.
I discovered a set by me and my (at that time) band, "The Raleigh Hills Dance Orchestra" (Raleigh Hills being the name of an alcohol rehab center that has since gone out of business).
There's some pretty fun stuff.
Let's start with an Irving Berlin prohibition era song, "I'll See You in C-U-B-A" where I am joined by my friend Valerie.
Moving right along, here's Steven and I singing Ray Benson's fine song "Am I High?"
Here's another great "oldie" sung by Steven and I.
"Dinah".
Here's my rendition of one of my favorite Chuck Berry songs, "You Can't Catch Me"
Now, a slightly revised version of Merle Haggard's classic "Okie from Muskogee".
And, last but not least, our decent into madness via Slim Gaillard's hymn to hysteria "Laughin' in Rhythm".
Thhhhheeee, thhhheeee, thaaat's all Ffffolks.

Didn't you love your hairdresser enough to immortalize her in song?
Great, fun music to listen to as I watch the lightening show out the door.
This is one big giant schtupp of a post my dear...shine it on and I applaud every lick of your talent and music. Hugs to Muggs <3 <3 <3
EM JAY- I've never had a hairdresser, ergo no song.
Wear your rubber soled shoes, mon ami.
Gran-Jan: Thanks Sweetie. OXOX
very cool. I thought about putting a lot of videos in one post, but was afraid it would cause the page to load too slowly for some people. I would be interested to know if this is a problem or not. I had 7 videos to include - perhaps i could have done it all in one too?? very cool to see you in your band - thanks for sharing.
I've had no trouble at all loading this page, probably because of what Mugg says below. On the other hand, things with 200+ comments freeze my computer for minutes.
Thanks Monica. I don't think 'embedded' videos take any extra time to load, because they are not really on Gather, they are just somehow linked from You Tube. It might be different if they were actually on the Gather server.
I've had such a frustrating experience trying to actually upload stuff to Gather, that I prefer just embedding.
This was a lot of fun. It's too bad that it wasn 't filmed at some gin joint because it sounds just like that type of music would be playing there.
Lisa- Now what would a refined Lady like you know about gin joints? ;o)
Thanks, glad you liked it. OXOX
How cool is that? I like the rendition of Okie from Muskogee
Thanks Lyn.
Good ones, all of them. I remember your version of "Okie from Muskogee" from before--I guess it was a favorite. :-)
Thanks, whoever you are.
What, you can't see me? How strange... :-)

Hey there "Smiley". OXOX
Hi Monica
I am having a problem with my edges again with my baby blanket. I would like to send a picture of it, but I don't know how to do this. Could you please explain it to me again. Thanks a million!!
Wow...that's some very strong stuff. I love all of it though my favorite is the Chuck Berry song that you do so well. Bravo!
Thanks, Krista. "You Can't Catch Me" is one of my all time favorite songs by the talented Mr. Berry.
