Why I Should Win the Billy Ray Cyrus, Signed Guitar...

When I heard about this contest I knew I had to enter to win the Billy Ray Cyrus guitar for my daughter Beth.

You see one of my daughter’s best memories is singing “Achy Breaky Heart” with her big sister Raven. When Beth was 3 and Raven was 6, Raven knew all the words and took great pride in teaching them to her little sister. She even dressed Beth up and they put on a show for the entire family!

I remember how happy they looked and what a wonderful time that was for my daughter and her sister. I had no idea it would be the last. Soon after my daughter’s father took Raven away to another state. Beth did not see her sister again until the funeral of their father 8 years later.

Beth immediately asked Raven if she remembered teaching her “Achy Breaky Heart.” Raven did and they both began to cry and hug. Beth tried to have a relationship with her sister many times after that but it never seemed to work out. Time had taken it’s toll.

If I win this guitar I will hand it over to my now 18 year old daughter as a reminder that while she and her sister are not together anymore, they share a very special memory that can never be taken away from them.
