Thursday night I had the distinct pleasure to attend a concert at the Harbor, on Lake Ray Hubbard, in Rockwall, Texas. The featured artist was young, extremely talented bluesman by the name of Shawn Pittman.
The evening was great, temperature in the low 80's, a nice breeze and the lake scene in the background. Since the concert went from 7:30 till 9:00 we were also treated to a beautiful sunset over Lake Ray Hubbard. The Concert Series at the Lake is still not heavily publicized which is how we like it because we can still get a good seat and enjoy great music without having to battle overwhelming crowds.
From the ballad style of 'Under the Gun' to the fabulous guitar riffs on 'I Got Trouble', Shawn treated us to a night of some great Blues. He plays lead guitar, keyboards and he pulls out the old slide guitar when they decide to get down and dirty and play raw Blues. His backup band is very tight and provides the perfect support for Shawn's incredible talent.
I have been a fan of the Blues for a long time and have listened to all the greats. Shawn Pittman will definitely be listed among them if he continues what he is doing now. If you would like to find out more about Shawn and his music visit his website at ShawnPittman.com and tell him that Jerry from Rockwall sent you. If you live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area you can catch him performing in several clubs nearby. If not, and you like the Blues, better hope you can persuade someone to get him to come and put on a show.
Could not have asked for a better night of music. It was also followed by a perfect meal but that is another story.

So anyway, great review Daddy! I like reading your writing. I'd love to hear more stories.
PS he's not a bad looking young man! WhooHooo...
(super good music, by the way)
If so, I have one of his CDs. Got it on Amazon.
Weird.
So let me say this....
I wish I would have been there with you.
I love the blues....
