I'm new to Gather.  Very new.  I joined because an artist that I admire greatly and support was/is to be the featured artist.  This artist is MiG, or MiG Ayesa, and I hope you've all checked out his ads and site.  Or better yet, have pre-ordered his CD.  He's amazing.

 Now to the point of my article.  I'd never heard of GATHER prior to reading about it on one of MiG's fansites.  I'm quickly becoming addicted!  I find myself sneaking on whenever I have a few free minutes.  But how did all of you learn of Gather?  I'm not particularly computer savvy, but I do get around.  I do my share of surfing/browsing/searching, but I'd never heard of Gather before.  How did you become acquainted with Gather and from where did you hear about it?

I learned of gather from bzzagent.com (but don't tell anyone-people didn't like the bzz agents!)

Gracie, I also was introduced to gather by MiG. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet but I'm giving it a try.
I'm also counting the days (13) until April 10 and MiG's album release.

Many moons ago, Gather was promoted as a site for writers to publish work, have it critiqued by other writers, and interact with others with similar interests. I read about it in the Boston Globe in January, 2006, and signed up immediately.

The site has morphed over time, and is now pretty much a social networking site, though there are still some really excellent writers around, and some awesome work in a variety of areas.

It caught my eye when I saw "reginafalage"..... Cute pseudonym! (I love Phoebe!)

I just showed up Gracie, but I have found a lot of interesting people, etc. here. The one artist that has truly interested me is MiG, and he has a very rare talent in todays sea of singers. I am glad you joined, and are part of my connections...

A friend told me about Gather. It is very addictive, but I've made somee good friends here.

I honestly don't remember where I first heard about Gather. - but I glad I found it.

Gracie, I signed up through Mypoints, a reward site where you earn points to reddem for gift certificates. I joined in March or April I believe, and by now I really love it. There is something here for everyone. I am personally a writer and a photographer, and I really enjoy sharing my work and receiving feedback, but I am also a savings fanatic, and through the Gather community I have really picked up a lot of great tips and freebies as well. The community is very broadly mixed, which I think what makes it so great. I really love reading everyone else's poems and writings, seieng their amazing images and profiting from their advice and knowledge. The gather points is an added benefit that should not be forgotten about, and which set this community a part from a lot of other online communities.

I am also a member of Mylot which is a bit like Gather, but not as serious, and I do prefer Gather.
