Everytime I recieve a package, I get a box full of styrofoam peanuts. More often than not, I wet them down and they dissolve.
However, I have a highly artistic four year old who is always surprising me with things she finds around our home which she incorporates into art.
My latest delivery of beads came with styrofoam (no surprise!). I put a few handfuls in a ziploc baggie and put in her craft supply cabinet.
Katie found them yesterday and wanted to create her own beads with them. Now, I know from working in early childhood education that tempera paint will not stick to styrofoam on it's own, so I added a little bit of Dawn dish liquid to the colors she chose. After the 'beads' dried I threaded yarn on a plastic needle and Katie pierced each bead on to the yarn.
The necklace is really pretty! I will post a picture of it soon... she wasn't in the mood to cooperate with my camera! lol

I am always a little disappointed by popcorn. I prefer bubble wrap!
