When Kevin Trudeau decided to write a book on natural health care, he had no idea that he would become the target of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Ever since the release of Natural Cures "They Don't Want You To Know About" and its rise to a best seller, Mr. Trudeau says he has been consistently harassed. He has also been hassled by the Federal Trade Commission and other branches of government.
On his website and in his book, he writes that he intends to "blow the whistle" and expose corporate and government corruption at all levels that adversely affect peoples' health.
In his book Natural Cures, Mr. Trudeau brings consumers new insights into how they can prevent, fight and even cure disease naturally and with no side effects. He also writes about how medicines your doctor gives you actually make you sicker and more dependant on drugs. As well, he exposes the ultimate motive of the pharmaceutical industry: to keep you sick and make money.
"Did you know that the pharmaceutical companies' objectives are to sell more drugs, not cure and prevent disease?" he writes.
As well, he notes how many foods have additives that can make you sick and that some even have ingredients that are addictive. He says the FDA has regulatory authority over both food and drugs, so its influence is vast and dangerous.
I was quite amazed by the amount of information between the covers of this book. Then I found a whole lot more on Mr. Trudeau's web sites. While I do not live in the United States, I am quite sure that the same things are happening in Canada. You can find info on natural cures such as:
Diabetes
Breast cancer
Prostate cancer
Heart disease
Depression
High cholesterol
Osteoporosis
High blood pressure
Arthritis
ADHD
Infertility
Weight loss
Cancer
Alzheimer's
In the book, he notes how the government and pharmaceutical companies work hand in hand with one objective: to make money. He is now spearheading a campaign to expose the truth aboutBig Pharma and how it has lied to consumers. One of the biggest lies, he writes, can be found in this article: If prescription drugs are so good, where are all the healthy drug takers?
Mr. Trudeau says he's picking up where Ralph Nader left off in his fight to inform consumers about what is really happening and who is ultimately controlling their health. He began his quest as a consumer advocate after a personal experience when big business and government attempted to debunk him for promoting natural healing therapies through his web site at http://www.naturalcures.com. He found that by doing so, he was hurting the profits of the giant drug corporations and this would simply not be tolerated. He also created another site, http://www.thewhistleblower.com to publicly expose corporate and government corruption in the health industry.
The consistent harassment over his web sites and his book led him to file two separate lawsuits in February 2005 against the FTC for publishing false and misleading information about him. Then in March 2005 he again sued the FTC for intentionally misleading the press. As well, in August 2005 he filed suit against the New York Consumer Protection Board for interfering with sales of his book and violation of his First Amendment rights.
Mr. Trudeau's publisher, Neil Sant of Alliance Publishing Group, Inc. came forward with a public statement about this interference.
"The CPB's conduct is shameful," he said. "It is generating misinformation, making totally false accusations, and appears intent on misleading broadcasters and the public in an effort to silence the truth." He continued with: "It is clear that certain government officials are threatened by this book because it exposes the government's misconduct and because it is a best-seller that strikes a chord with Americans everywhere. The government tried to censor this book in direct violation of the First Amendment."
In January of this year, Mr. Trudeau called for an investigation of the New York Consumer Protection Board and just last month (August), a federal court judge issued an order "temporarily enjoining" the New York CPB from interfering with the sale of his book.
