"Wizard's First Rule: People are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anyting. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true. People's heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true. People are stupid; they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool"

I agree, the TV show Bones is better than Kathy Reichs' books.
I love the TV show. I was very disappointed with the book.
I wish I could comment on all your lists for 2009, but we don't seem to read the same types of books. I can say, though, that I'm glad you commented on that Bones book. I wonder how it compared with the tv series. I'm not a fan of that show, but my husband likes it, so I sometimes watch it with him. If the book's worse, I'm sure I wouldn't like it.
The character in the book is very boring and the plot was a rehash of excellent book, The Body by Richard Spair. The plot line is a murder was done because someone thinks they found the bones of Jesus Christ.
You seem to have quite a good list going for the year...how many are you trying to read?
I never try to read any set amount. That would make reading a chore. Over the last 20 years I average between 45 to 75 books a year. I keep a list of what I have read. It is fun every couple years to look at the list and remember all the great books I read. Now with online groups like this, I can find other people who like to read, too.
Thanks for posting your article to the Gather group, Bookin'.
Thanks for having me.
Do you have actual video proof of you reading? You know this could become a reality show: 'Book Survivor.'
Which book will be read to the last page? Which book will be used as second base in a pick up softball game, which of course is educational, since the runner could read a few pages when the manager comes to the mound. He will of course turn to second base and say, 'Good reading, eh.'
Try reading Jefferson Bass. His (actually their) books are much better than Kathy Reichs. Dr. Bass, who is part of Jefferson Bass, runs the Body Farm in Knoxville, Tennessee.
