Books I read in June 2008

I started with a SF series that I had been meaning to read, for quite awhile.  But I just found the third book to the series.

21.     Titan by John Varley – SF/Fantasy – B

I have heard a lot of hype of this series. " Better then Dune".  It isn't.  But it held my attention and the ending made me want more. A sign of a good book.

It is about the discoverer of a small object circling Saturn.  When a space team look close at it, they found out it was alive. A god-like creature rule the world and created every living thing in it.

22.     Wizard by John Varley – SF/Fantasy – B

More adventures of  Cirocco "Rocky" Jones.  Gaea has given some very strange powers. Because she is (Gaea ) is dying.  A much more interesting storyline this time around.

23.     Demon by John Varley – SF/Fantasy – B+

The last and third book of the Gaea Series.  Gaea is dying and wants to take everyone we her.  Can Demon (formerly the Wizard) stop her?  The best out of the three.

24.     Talon of the Silver Hawk by Raymond E. Fiest – Fantasy – B

The first of the Conclave of Shadow trilogy.  Welcome back to the world of Midkemia.  This book is about a young boy who has seen his whole village destroy by an army leaving no survivors.  He saved by some mysterious people who will give him the chance to get revenge.

25.     King of Foxes by Raymond E. Fiest – Fantasy – B

     Talon has now begins his revenge on the killers of his people but to get the man at the top, Duke Kasper .  He has to become Duke's right hand man. Evil magic is surrounding the Duke. Talon must learn to outwit the evil. 

It sounds straight forward but in the hands of a master wrtier like Fiest, there are many twist and turns to keep you turning the page.
