Mom and I left for Quincy about 1:30pm yesterday. We started our day out with lunch at the Chinese Buffet. Mom grossed me out scraping mussels right out of their shells and eating them.
From there Mom when to the Shoe Depot and I went to GameStop. GameStop had a big display of Guitar Hero: Rock Band right in the middle of traffic flow, so it was very difficult to maneuver around in there. I found a used copy of Castlevania: Lament of Innocence and I thought of buying it. I probably should have. I met up with Mom at the Shoe Depot. She had bought fuzzy striped slippers and red and white flats if I remember right.
Next was the pet store. There they have an unusual assortment of pet treats and food. I got my dog some beef ears and I thought about a pig's weenie, but decided against it. We ooo'ed and ahhh'ed at the bunny rabbits, chinchilla, and hedgehog. We were revolted by the cages full of mice and rats. Talked to the parrots who were sitting on top of their cages. I received a text message while talking to the green parrot. When I opened the phone to read it, it caught the eye of the green parrot. He hopped across to me and snagged the top of my phone in his beak. We played tug of war for a bit. I eventually won.
We went to Hobby Lobby. Mom bought lots of Easter and St. Patrick's Day stuff. I saw several cool picture frames, but I wasn't in the mood to spend so much money on them.
Next on our hit list was Big Lots. I showed Mom the recliner I want to buy with my tax return. Neither one of us bought anything there.
We went to Kohl's (Mom's favorite store in the whole world). The chinese food from earlier had given me gas to beat the band. I left many many many stink bombs around the store. Mom bought some more shoes there. I can't remember what they look like. Mom's got a thing for shoes.

We had about 30 minutes then until the Sweeney Todd start time. We get there, and there's a sign saying they were sorry, but the heating unit in the theater screening Sweeney Todd was broken and they recommend wearing a coat during the movie. Mom got us discounts since we were gonna be cold.
The cold theater added to ambience of the movie. The imagery was beautiful. About 30 minutes of singing, and Mom started glaring at me. I asked her what was wrong, she asked if I wanted to leave. I said no. She asked a couple more times, I kept saying no. About 2/3 of the way through she said she was leaving. She shopped at JC Penney's while I finished the movie. I thought the movie was beautiful, gruesome, and had some moments of sick humor. I loved it. I don't think it was the Oklahoma! type musical Mom was expecting.
I called Mom when I got out of the movie. She was down at JC Penney's, so I went to Walden Books. I bought the graphic novel Star Wars - Legacy and the paperback Star Wars - Darth Bane: Path of Destruction.
We got home about 10pm. That was the longest I had been out and about in a very long time. I throughly enjoyed myself. And I think Mom had a good time too.

What? You eat the shells, too? Or exactly how do you eat mussels?
I am one of her friends here in town!
