Each year, Bards and Sages sponsors a speculative writing contest to benefit various charities. Each year is a little different than the last, because I get bored easily and need to do new things..um...I mean...to keep things fresh. Past charities include the International Women's Writing Guild, The Red Cross, and the Speculative Literature Foundation. This year, our selected charity is DonorsChoose.org. This wonderful organization helps public school teachers find donors to fund school projects. Sadly, many of our public school teachers find themselves reaching into their own pockets for basic needs like craft supplies and electronic equipment.
This year, all winners will receive a cash prize and have a matching gift made to DonorsChoose.org for the special project of their choice. Plus, all winning entries will be published in an anthology, and published authors will receive a complimentary copy of the book.
