Hello everyone.
Thank you so much for all your support. It's making progress!
Here's what has happened:
Some corporate executives at NBCUniversal/SciFi Channel named named MARK STERN and BONNIE HAMMER, have cancelled STARGATE SG1, and put WWE Fake ProWrestling onto the SciFi channel.
And No, I'm not joking. They've just cancelled one of the highest quality shows, and locked other US channels out of picking up the show and continuing it by sneaking a clause into the production contract.
Thousands of people are upset with these two characters at NBC/Scifi, and are calling for them to step down. And others are left wondering what are they thinking??
In any case, we need everyone's help to FIGHT to help STARGATE SG1. You can help.
Please JOIN the MISSION!
We need to show NBC UNIVERSAL/SCIFI CHANNEL that we won't stand for it, and mail these executives and speak your mind to them. Tell them how you feel about this.
These are the same people who cut your other favorite good quality shows like Farscape, FireFly, and instead think it's great to replace them with SciFi channel ORIGINALS such as Mansquito, Snakes fighting, "Pumpkinhead: Love Hurts", (you're going to get 3 pumpkinhead films in october, folks) and things like FRANKENFISH.
And you can bet that after SG1 is cancelled, Atlantis and BSG will follow. And you'll be left with a nice selection of poorly written B-movies, pretend goon WRESTLING and Fat Momma, the donut eating superhero reality show.
Everyone has now decided to fight this, and won't stand for it any longer. We are forming Mission Teams. Each is helping in a different way to help fight for Stargate SG1. For example, email campaigns, letter writing, posting flyers, etc. and even phoning up these bozos at their offices at NBC/SciFi.
Are you up for it? EMAIL US. We need you. And all of us need to take action before it's too late! They are over there working on canceling the show right as we speak.
Can you help us and our show?
What can you do?

Not only that, by making disparaging comments about specific shows, you risk alienating potential allies who happen to like those shows. In this kind of campaign, you need all the support you can get.
I hope you'll reconsider your comments. Good luck.
I imagine the doltish execs at SciFi aren't securing SG! is that it's too expensive to produce. I don't believe Shanks, Tapping and the rest of the crew will accept $1,000 per episode. Do you? Though I love the show (and SG Atlantis, too), perhaps it's time to retire SG!. Only if they can come up with a quality show to replace it and not some half-baked show that cost $1.99 to produce.
And NBCUniversal/SciFi channel pays even LESS for it.
Each episode of SG1 costs MGM/Bridge Studios approximately 2.1 million dollars to produce. Of this, SciFi channel only pays 1/3rd of this, which is about $730,000, MGM pays for 2/3'rds. So SciFi is not paying much, especially for the quality of Stargate. MGM is onboard and all for Stargate SG1, and even stated that Stargate was one of their most important assets ranking up there with the James Bond franchise.
SciFi channel is part of NBC Universal. NBCUniversal just announced that they hope to earn over 1 billion dollars by next year, JUST on digital clips on youtube. NBCUniversal contains Universal music which has income from thousands of musical artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Aaliyah, Eminem, Blink182....billions. NBC operates UNIVERSAL STUDIOS theme parks, MSNBC, CNBC, BRAVO TV, USA Network, Universal Pictures, LionsGate, Telemundo, a dozen television stations, and is owned by GENERAL ELECTRIC CORPORATION which is on the FORTUNE 10 shortlist as one of the largest companies in the nation. This is not a company hurting at the bank. And NBC pays for other shows that cost them multi-millions of dollars, much more than stargate, all the time. It's not even an issue for them.
And as I'm sure you know, the giant marketing pr juggernaut WWE is not going to just hand them the license for WWE/ECW wrestling shows either. The Vince McMahon organization is a well oiled and well litigated worldwide behemoth that is not scrimping for people who want to air that stuff, so they can hold out for a huge payment of a pretty penny for anyone who wants to air their theatrical productions.
Plus, as far as SciFi channel goes, Each of those "SciFi ORIGINAL" B-grade movies SciFi must also pay to produce, and that means they must pay the Entire production cost of those motion picture films, including costs to construct and build all the on-location sets (at the lakes containing the FrankenFish, or the harbor containing the boats that get mauled by the giant Octopus, or the 40 foot crocodile), they need to provide food catering for all the actors, cast, crew, and extas, they need to pay for all the semi-tractor-trailer production trucks, the costs of film, film processing, editing and post production to make the little ManSquito jump out, digital cgi effects (ok, that's a bargain rate company producing those), screenwriting for what that's worth, lighting, director, producer, grips, electrical work, gaffers, chyron produced end title credits, composition of music, foley and sound effects people involved in the production, orchestra for music or stock music, audio engineers for mixing, digital compositing fees, makeup people, trailers on location, fuel costs, photography for the promos, marketing, paying the web designer to photoshop a Pumpkinhead and put it up on the SciFi.com website.... So you see, these B-movies DO NOT cost Scifi 1.99 to produce. They cost a Lot, usually much more than SciFi pays for Stargate, and then they have to DO all the labor and work too.
In any case, you've got to spend money to Make money. And also you need to spend a little to promote it and take care of it. If you have a show winning dog, or a strong thoroughbred horse that you know is a winner, but you neglect it, and don't take care of it, it could have done great, but instead it will starve and wither. If you don't treat it well, it's going to come in 4th. But if you spend money to feed it, it's going to be a champion, and return much more than you ever thought.
Stargate helped lift the SciFi channel from little unknown also-ran channel into the Limelight of the top 10 in cable and made it into a well-respected network. Stargate Fans actually phoned their cable companies to ASK them to carry Scifi when it was not even in the package, and the cable companies didn't want to add it because SciFi wanted to charge an extra dollar fifty to all subscribers (you) in order to add it.
In addition, Stargate is what helped to pull in LARGE ADVERTISERS to bring in cash for SciFi channel. Due to the popularity of SG1, even 5 years ago, SciFi channel was able to get advertisers such as AMERICAN EXPRESS, FORD, VOLVO, GEICO, and others, and they spend from 50K to over 100,000 per 30 second spot, of which there are 32 potential ad segments during just 1 episode of SG1. That's potentially 3.2 million dollars. (And yes, SciFi puts over 16 minutes of advertising commercials into your show that you watch every time. There's only 38 minutes of actual SG1 on SciFi channel. Then the rest of the hour is filled with SciFi's own ads promoting their own other shows. Eureka and FrankenFish and Sasquatch and little short animations where a guy blows air up a puppy's behind into a balloon animal, and so forth.)
When a marketing ad salesman from SciFi channel calls up AMEX in order to try to make a sale of a tv ad package, Stargate has made tons of money for SciFi over the years. If an ad guy calls up AMEX's PR department and says "Hi, want to advertise during Stargate SG1?" after some review they said yes, and probably said "Ohh! Yeah, I know that show. That's not bad." Or do you think the sales guy closes tons of ad sales by saying "Hi American Express? yes, oh, you'll definitely want to buy ads on Our SciFi channel, we have an excellent lineup of PumpkinHead, and then we are going to follow with Pumpkinhead: Love Hurts, and you'll love the one where we have this Wooly Mammoth that is also an Alien, and a Vampire at the same time, and a movie with a 15-foot Nazi in it, and your ads will run during that. How bout it, American Express, sound good?" How about a million dollar ad buy during our SciFi original movies?

[messages from actual fan's expressing their feelings]
Don't get me wrong, I loved the show, loved Browder and gawd did I lust for Claudia Black but the last season just blew.
and like putting the 'borg' to sleep (and they promptly exploded!!!) jumped the shark for STNG having Browder fight not one but TWO knights in armor did if for SG-1...
here's an idea, how about stopping the whining and getting out and having a life?
this too shall pass, (or you can watch reruns).
I suspected it after that awful 200th honk.
