I read in our local paper that over 700 cases have been confirmed in our county school system.

But have they really been confirmed? Around here, they're still diagnosing people over the phone. That's not confirmation of cases.

I haven't heard of a phone diagnosis.

????????? if they say confirmed it means there was lab work done. They are however telling people that have flu like symptoms to just stay at home if they aren't that sick.

I asked my doctor about getting either the seasonal flu shot or the H1N1 vaccination. He said good luck finding it.

The flu shot was easy to find to begin with but they have run out in my area now as well. I had the flu shot but my husband has not

I got the flu shot. More H1N1 vaccinations should be available next week.

my doctor sent me a letter cause I have put my flu shot off. I am more worried about children and pregnant women getting theirs first.

I believe there are plenty of regular flu vaccines. It's the H1N1 that's in limited supply.

In VA I have heard of several cases of it. My nephew went to the doc on MOnday after a spiking fever and after taking a flu test....they told us he does have the flu but unless we wanted to order further testing....not sure which one. As a precaution they gave him TAmaflu. A friend of mine in Norfolk told me today that her daughter has it. I am glad that we are stocked up on hand sanitizer and *knock on wood* Noone else I know has had any symptoms.

Keep the stock of sanitizer. That's the best prevention.

Good Lord!~~We've tried for 3 straights weeks to get the H1N1 for my teen (17) son; our state is advising ALL kids to get this. They haven't been receiving enough of the vaccine or something...because each week we are told to check back. Our family dr. isn't giving the vaccine either. By the time my son receives it, flu season will be over!

no real count here in my area as mostly they aren't even testing for it, but the news says that more than likely any flus that have hit have most likely been the swine flu
just another reason I wish I could just stay home
