(To the tune of (and with apologies to whoever wrote/sang), "So This Is Christmas?")
Well, so this is Christmas...
All th' pain and th' stress.
Can't find 'em th' presents
That they'll love th' best.
Well, Merry, Merry Christmas
And is that snow or sleet?
I came dressed for winter *oof*
Not th' sidewalk to meet.
You can take Christmas
I've had it to here.
And my poor ol' wallet
Has lost all its cheer.
I'm poundin' th' pavement
Hittin' ALL of th' stores
From TVs to kitchens
From peignoirs to doors.
You KNOW that it's Christmas
There's so much false cheer.
And th' toys for th' grandsons
Aren't anywhere near.
Well, you can have Christmas
I'm finished, I fear.
I'm cold and I'm tired
And I need me some cheer.
But Merry, Merry Christmas
You can cope with th' strife
It's only this one time
Each year of your life.
Well, I guess I'll keep Christmas
If just for th' boys
I'll keep lookin' all over
For goodies and toys
So, Merry, Merry Christmas
And be of good cheer
May the joy of Christmas Morning
Stay with you all year.
