Warning! We are being invaded by killer tomatoes from Mars. They may look innocent, but they are deadly. As if tornados, floods, forest fires, volcanos, avalanches and hurricanes weren't enough. Now it's tomatoes. What's next? Rhubarb perhaps? It's not safe to eat anymore. And you know the water is polluted. What are we to do?
I think it's a conspiracy. I think someone or something is out to get us. Here's my reasoning. There are so many millions of people starving to death, especially in Africa where there is absolutely nothing to eat. Somebody wants to get even by poisoning the food of the wealthiest countries, so as to even the playing field so to speak. This entity is saying, "If we can't eat, then they won't eat either". Is it voodoo? I have no idea.
I don't know what to eat anymore. I don't trust the fish, I stay clear of spinach, nothing from China, Mexico or Bangladesh. I'd grow my own, but we're not allowed to water because of the drought here in the Southwest. Perhaps what I'll do is what Charlie Chaplin did. I don't recall the name of the movie, but you remember Charlie Chaplin don't you? He had to resort to boiling his own shoes up in Alaska somewhere. If I do eat my shoes I must be careful they're the real leather ones. I hear the plastic shoes from China can be toxic.

Cooking them makes them safe from this particular bacteria. So why don't they just send them all off to a cannery so all that food isn't wasted?
I don't know.
Go ahead and eat what tastes good! Food is safer today than at any time in history. It's just that some bad tomatoes cropped up and it is broadcast to the whole world.
They've always had incidents of food poisoning. Years ago, when my dad was working for the livery stable and driving people places, he had to occasion to take the Doc out to a place where virtually an entire family died of botulism over a three week period. Only one member failed to eat the salad and lived.
In that same small town, an elderly lady tasted some canned corn and decided it was not good. She threw it out to the chickens. Both she and the chickens died!
But food was not often transported half way around the word back then. And tragedies or simple deaths were often not heard of in the next state. Bottom line is, it's safe to eat your food so belly up to the table and dig in!
I am not afraid of food. We do grow some of our own stuff here. We have to eat so I will. It is important to be aware of food sources and make sure you wash it all.
Starvation is a terrible thing. I do not think they would be trying to poison us. Who knows for sure?- fear is desired effect for many terrorist acts though.
