In the news this morning

I can't believe the news story I just heard. The anchorman just reported that there is a place in the US, and he named this place, and continued to say that if terrorist decided to attack this place that it would be the most horrific attack ever.

Ok, is there something I don't get, or please tell my why the news would want to disperse such information?

I want so much to feel safe in this country but I don't see much that gives me the security that would help me.

Sheesh! That makes a lot of sense doesn't it?!?!

I swear the News people will say anything to get ratings! I'm pretty sure if the above mentioned place was attacked tomorrow there would be NO reprocussions!

It's crazy and irresponsible ! IMHO

I totally agree with you, just like the news sharing secrets on how to build a bomb, or tell how the worse way to poison somebody and it not be traced, what the hell? Of course, its not just the news, its even TV shows like my favorite, CSI. ugh... Nobody is truley safe these days, you just wait for your number to turn up!

I totally agree !! It's just like when Geraldo was crawling around with the soldiers when the war began and he was giving coordinates of where they were at !! WHY???
There was a show I was watching a few weeks ago giving the name and location of some place near Canada / US that was unprotected as well ....WHY announce it? WHY not get it blocked and secure if they know it is open??

One year after 9/11 it was on the news everyday, every week, every year "We are the most suceptible though our sea ports". To make their case, media crews were able to ship a fake nuclear device through different nations and ports. True, they made their point, at the same time they were encouraging terrorists to try it themselves, since the news gave colorful details about bribing and shortcuts they used.

Kudos to the "loyalty" of our ratings-hungry media.

I just heard on the news that the White House has declared that Fox News is not an actual news channel. Is that something to be declared by the White House?
