Such Embarrassment!

One day I went to a large discount store with my husband.  While he was doing his shopping, I wandered around looking at various merchandise.  I saw a talking scale and was intrigued.  I thought I would just sneak over to it and hop on and see what I weighed.  I stepped on the scale and it said loudly in front of the store customers, "Overload, goodbye!"  I was never so embarrassed in my life as I quickly looked around to see how many people had heard and made my exit from the department as fast as possible!

I would be totally embarrassed to have anyone hear my weight read outloud even if it didn't say "overload"! You were brave for trying it out!

LOL Oh my, I would have run out in a hurry too! But it would have made me laugh as well. Tossing the scale against a wall would have been a great choice too!

Janet, you were very brave to get on a scale in public. I would never do that even if the scale didn't talk.

Wow! I agree with Linda. You were VERY brave. I'm glad I've never seen one of those scales. I think it would yell at me even if I just walked by!

I think I would have proceeded to the hardware department, gotten myself a good-sized hammer, and come back to beat the scale to death. I would have just had to.

I tend to react pretty well in circumstances like that, I would have chuckled and said, "Cool i gotta try this after the pig-pickin tomorrow."

Wow, what company would put such a message on a scale anyway? They sure don't expect to gain any business "by word of mouth" apparently!

I hadn't thought of it that way but you are right! It wasn't very nice of the company to put that kind of a message on the scale. I'll bet that model of scale wasn't too popular with the average woman.
