Although we don't usually make a big deal of anniversaries, we decided to do something special for our 25th anniversary in 1990. We took what we called our "some day trip".
For years we traveled I 95 between Florida and North Carolina to visit my dad two or three times a year. On every trip we would pass signs to places that looked interesting. And we often said "someday we're going to stop there". Our someday trip consisted of visits to many of those places - the outlet malls in Brunswick Georgia, the millionaire's home tour on Jeckyl Island, a recommended restaurant on St. Simons Island, outlet mall shopping sightseeing and a horse drawn carriage ride in Savannah, more sightseeing, a bus tour and another carriage ride in Charleston and a lovely dinner cruise around Charleston harbor on the evening of our anniversary. We even stopped at South of the Border the next day before we headed north for a short visit with dad.
Do you do anything special to celebrate anniversaries?

As for me... I don't even remember our wedding date exactly. We don't do anything special. Everyday that my husband and I can see each other is a special day. :-)
Now we usually plan a day of dinner and a movie. When the minister married us he asked we bring 2 candles and candle holders. He said to light the candles every year on our anniversary. We haven't missed lighting them one year. We either eat a meal or a snack by candlelight sometime during our anniversary.
Ever since our cursed-wedding/blessed-marriage began we have never celebrated our anniversary on the day of our anniversary, and we never make a big deal of it, like we did our wedding.
On the other hand, our Birthdays are always a bash.
