I hope to check in I will be checking the debate out on PBS tonight. BTW I just checked my retirement account and I can't afford 4 more yrs of Bush or McCain who in my honest opinion who wants to do more of the same. America can't afford more of the same for that matter with declining home values, increasing govt. red ink and more corporate welfare.
I heard today that McCain wants to debate on Character. Obama wants economy. We'll see how McCain avoids the questions like his running mate is quilty of. I'll be watching and will try to get back on here as soon as possible. :)
Definately will be watching but won't get to be online. I will watch with Hubby on CSPAN. I look for Obama to body slam McCain without even laying a hand on him. McCain wants to turn the page because he doesn't feel confident. Obama has the highest electorical polling so his confidence is sky high. I just hope McCain doesn't lose his temper because this is, after all, a town meeting in close quarters. I'm guessing he might call Obama a jerk, like he did to that voter who asked a hard question, but his surrogates say he plans to laugh off all the rhetoric.
And Phyllis, you obviously haven't read Obama's plan. If you are middle class you will pay less in taxes than with McCain in charge. If you are rich you will pay more. If you're not making more than $250,000 you have nothing to worry about.
Cubs went down like the Titantic. Maybe next year but the fact of the matter is Americans need to get rid of the me first mentality. It can lead to a lot of bad things including a two class society- rich and poor and no middle class. I'm not making 250,00 a year- yet. So I'm not worried about a tax increase. If Obama raises my taxes that means I hit pay dirt!
To be more exact, the richest 10% of adults accounted for 85% of the world's total wealth. In contrast, the bottom half of the world adult population owned barely 1% of global wealth.

The rich pay less now than under Reagan and Clinton. Obama wants to raise taxes on the rich to closer to where it was when Clinton or Reagan was president. GWB gave all these tax breaks to the wealthy (approved by McCain of course) and that has even created more of a deficit along with the war in Iraq.
I'll take that its 48here right now. I was actually in Tampa last week( my family lives there) It was still hot there. One of these days I'll convince my husband to move.
Did McCain just say he has always been responsible? Doesn't that contradict the whole maverick thing? Not to mention 5 crashed planes, random bad taste jokes, his admitted gambling tendencies, his "game changer" mentality, etc.?

What is wierd is that any other pilot in any of the services who trashed 5 jets would not have been promoted must have had to do with daddy and grandpa with 4 stars

They also hold 90% of the wealth in America. Or close to it, if not more.
